Review Outdoor Advertising
Transit Bus Template
This is the next design piece for the Advertising Series.
All your preliminary work is completed:
Design Brief
Concept
Images
Text
You will now take your magazine ad design and concept and
reformat that design to fit the transit shelter bus poster.
Once your design is completed you will place it in the Transit Bus Template
(see link above). It's important to see your completed design in the context
that it will "live" in. Once it is placed, decide if you need to make any changes
to fit the environment of the transit shelter.
Process:
1.
3 thumbnails minimum -Work proportional (4" x 3.25")
either manually or computer thumbnails
2. Two computer roughs (8" x 5.5")
These will be critiqued in the forum in the same way as
Pt.1 was critiqued.
3. Work in Illustrator or Indesign to complete rough
4. Final design must be placed in the environment.
Specs:
Size: Height: 65"
Width: 44"
Due to the large size, we will complete this project 25% size (16.25" x 11")
Color: Full color (CMYK)
Images: same as used in other ads but may be altered
QR Code: create for web address or message of some kind
Text: same as used in other ads but may be altered.
Illustrator Layout:
• Keep one file with all the text as type (if you have "outlined" any type").
• Create a Package folder (to store all rlelevant files)and manually place all the parts of your design - Illustrator files, copy fonts used, any images placed in layout - in this folder. Illustrator does not have an automatic packaging feature that InDesign has.
Make sure to save a copy of this folder on a remote server such as Xythos or on your portable back-up device so that files are easily accessible. Save Photoshop images as 266 dpi TIF or native psd.
• Save Illustrator files as an "ai" or "eps" file. |
