Multimedia Presentation on Media Theory.
Use short paragraphs and pictures to illustrate a concept of your Choice from the texts we have covered.
Format: Powerpoint (Quicktime video or Flash also accepted)
10 slides minimum.

This module's text analyzes the alphabet as a code and how its conciseness and abstraction helped it flourish among other writing systems.

It is interesting to see how writing has been historically linked to religious constructions (think how the 3 main monotheistic religions are based and spread through books: The Koran, The Torah and the Bible)

It is also very thoughtful of Levinson to point out how the printing press would take force when being us de by a code-system of 26 characters instead of the 20,000 pictograms of the Chinese repertoire.

1. In a couple of paragraphs (no more than that) tell me what importance you see in this text: points of interest, your opinion of it...
Remember that I don't want to know your exact personal opinion. I would like to read some well thought commentary that tells me about how you have being working with the text.

Notes Mid term:

It is very dynamic, but the energy seems to be placed on transitions, not in content.
There are several screens filled with text, and the paragraphs are quite long.
Remember that you are supposed to break-out the content into smaller pieces to make it easier to understand.
