Those are examples of characters used for advertising campaigns.
Those are openings for a Movieland broadband pilot.

You can see animation and bitmap graphics integrated by vector based graphic elements.

Notice the heavy use of masks. In this case, the masks helped integrated the images from movies that would help represent the world of cimema.

The area on the right was reserved for advertising: adverstising-stills would roll in that space every 5 seconds, becoming an active part of the dynamic interface.

Illustrator is the main program to create sophisticated 2D vector graphics and an important skill to approach 3D design.

As a student of MAT_112 you are working with stills but your mind should be already projecting your work into Timebased media because most jobs are going to be in the media, not the printing field.

This is, to me, one of the best examples of a "coherent original World" produced in the Multimedia department.
It belongs to student Lauren Herring, student of MAT_116 Flash.

Notice the graphic devices he uses, like the use of live patterns (because they are animated) and the use of masks.
