HELP Within WebCT

1. When in doubt as to how to use a tool with WebCT, click on HELP in the Menu Bar on the top right of Course Title, this is within the rose colored banner and reads: MYWEBCT / LOGOUT / HELP / COURSE MAP / RESOURCES.

2. This is a richly developed HELP tool that will respond intuitively to answer questions relative to the page or tool you are currently working in. You will get faster answers here.

ZipIt Preference Settings That Work For Me on my MAC *

1. Mac File Compression Program ≠ see Software.htm in Materials and Resources in COURSE OUTLINE.

a. I had problems initially downloading sample zipped files until I set the Preferences within ZipIt as follows:

b. Set under File>Preferences

Archive file type: Select ZIP

Use MacBinary: Never

Default compression: Deflation (better)

Zip file marking: Pretend to be PKZip

Default compression: Do not zip invisible

* I use a Mac on OSX (version 10.1.5), Netscape 7 and Internet Explorer 5.1

RESIZING Browser Windows and Type Size Within the Windows

1. Resizing pop-up windows in any browser.

a. is accomplished by moving your mouse to the lower right hand corner, grabbing the tip, and dragging it to a larger size.

2. Resizing the display type within NETSCAPE and INTERNET EXPLORER.

a. On a Mac

i. Command key and plus or minus key.

ii. Some versions (and operating systems) may require Command Shift and plus or minus key.

b. On a PC

i. Control key and plus or minus key.

ii. Depending on the version and your operating system, this may also require Control Shift and plus or minus key.
