Assignment-Exercise: Exclamation Point
Grade: 100 points
Due:
The exclamation point is the aerobics instructor
of punctuation marks. It means so many things,
and they're all relatively loud.
Ending important sentences for years now, the
exclamation point can mean you are supposed to read that last sentence in the spirt of anger, fear, excitement,
joy or happiness. Or it can simply imply that you should read it louder than other sentences. It's hard to know exactly what it means
without the context of the sentence. Until today. Your challenge today is to create degrees of exclamation point. You are to create new punctuation to replace the exclamation point thet better describes the following exclamations:
Anger Happiness, Fear, Excitement Loud
You can use the exclamation point as a design element, or you can create your own brand new punctuation.
Take some time to explore various fonts to see what the exclamation point looks like in that particular font. You can begin with an existing exclamation point and create outlines in Illustrator to alter it to work with the given descriptive words.
Each word will have a minimum of FIVE different exclamation points (total of at least 25).
Feel free to manually sketch your designs first and then scan them in and auto trace in Illustrator.
Be Creative and have FUN!
Upload ONE jpg file with all the designs.
Print one copy to hang for critique.
