How to Print a Booklet in Indesign

    1. Open your document in Adobe InDesign.

    2. Click "File" in the top menu bar and select "Print Booklet."

    3. Click the "Print Preset" drop-down menu to select an existing group of settings. Select the "Custom" option if you want to define unique settings for the current document.

    4. Select "All" to include every page of your document in the booklet, or select "Range" and enter the segment of pages you want included.

    5. Click the "Booklet Type" drop-down menu and select from one of five options: "2-up Saddle Stitch," "2-up Perfect Bound," "2-up Consecutive," "3-up Consecutive" or "4-up Consecutive." Set your space, bleed, creep and signature size settings in the corresponding fields directly below the drop-down menu.

    6. Check the box labeled "Automatically Adjust to Fit Marks and Bleeds" if you want InDesign to handle these settings for you. This option is enabled by default. Otherwise, uncheck the box and enter your preferred top, bottom, right and left margin values in the corresponding fields.

    7. Check the box labeled "Print Blank Printer Spreads" if you want InDesign to do so. This option is enabled by default.

    8. Click the "Print Settings" button.

    9. Click the "Printer" drop-down menu and select the printer that will be used to print the booklet.

    10. Enter the number of copies you want printed in the "Copies" field.

    11. Set additional options, such as paper size, orientation, scaling and printer's marks, by clicking the menu items on the left-hand side of the window. These options are separated into six sections: "Setup," "Marks and Bleed," "Output," "Graphics," "Color Management" and "Advanced."

    12. Click "OK" to confirm your settings.

    13. Click "Print" to print your document in booklet format.
