EXERCISE : RANDOM INPUT
Grade: 100points
Due: Week#2, Monday, 9am
Process:
1. Choose one of the "tasks" listed below
New ideas to make a bank more attractive to its customers.
The problem of graffiti being painted on buildings and other
surfaces on SBCC campus.
The problem of cars going too fast along a straight stretch of road.
New ideas for a newspaper.
2. Choose one random word.
3. List 10 different thoughts/ideas to solve the stated task/problem.
SUGGESTION
It is useful to jot down your ideas. Perhaps you could even keep
a log book of your ideas and your progress.
EXERCISE Example:
The Task/problem is: To provide a new idea for a new restaurant.
The Random Word is: CLOAK.
Immediate thoughts:
.. a highway robbery theme
.. a Venetian theme with projected pictures of gondolas
.. walters and waitresses to be masked
Further thoughts:
.. no menu. You tell the head waiter roughly what you feel
like. He or she then decides your meal for you
. . you cannot see the food you are eating (iit is cloaked).
Restaurants all in the dark already exist
.. a vegetarian restaurant, but the food is disguised as
meat
.. there are code words you use for ordering the meal
It is clear that two directions have emerged. The first direction
is a "theme" direction associated with "cloak."
The second direction is to do with the concept of "cloaked,"
"masked," "disguised" or "hidden."
