Project:
Choose either a shoe, handbag or skateboard line that you would like to promote.
It MUST be an existing line of products.
Your campaign will promote one or two of the products from that line.

Objectives
• develop a creative concept to promote a product
• understand the importance of hierarchy in a layout
• use the principles of design
• design different layouts for the SAME product/company as part of one campaign
(each layout is changed to fit the specific format for magazine, banner ads and transit poster)

Assignment Details:
Using the information and images from your Design Brief, create a minimum of 2 thumbnails by hand (draw neatly)
for each format (total of 4 thumbnails).
OR
You may also create your thumbnails on the computer as you did for the Smartphone project.
Scan completed thumbnails and save as jpgs to place in Indesign doc.
Be sure to work proportionally. 50% size is best.
All thumbnails must have a GRID to help you layout the elements
.
(You MUST indicate photos by roughly drawing them, NOT with empty boxes,
and write in headlines and indicate body copy areas using lines).

Choose your best thumbnails (magazine and banner) and
recreate them to the appropriate size in your Indesign document.

These will be considered your first drafts or computer roughs.
They will be critiqued and then reworked.

Make sure to watch for typos (use Spell Check).

EXPORT your Indesign document to a PDF as High Quality Print

Upload ONE PDF document to Moodle.

Save magazine and banner ad computer roughs as separate jpgs to upload to Moodle forum for critique.
