Forum Critique: Advertising Series - Magazine and Banner Ad
Design Brief and Thumbnails

What you will upload to the Critique Forum:
  1. Please type the Product and Company you have chosen.
  2. In this forum section describe the concept you will use for your series of advertising.
    This information will come from the Design Brief research and thumbnails.
    Discuss why you feel this concept is the best.
    Will this concept be a challenge to develop?
    How will you develop it?

  3. Scan (digital photo) your thumbnails and save as one jpg file and upload.
    Please check size to be sure your jpg is not too large to upload. Size can be changed in Photoshop.

  4. PDF with items listed below.

  5. Critique at least 2 of your classmates thumbnails using design vocabulary and principles.
    Also discuss whether you feel the concept works.
    Sharing information helps the creative process.
    Another student's comments may spark something different for you that
    you may not have thought of or it may just be a validation that you are on the right track!

The objective is for your concept design to be non-literal with the images you choose.

This must be completed before you begin to do the final design and is part of your grade.

Process:
Create an Indesign file for #1 - 4 below and export as one PDF to upload to this forum.

1. Design Brief - This research will help you create a substantial Design Brief.

2. Brainstorming - minimum of 20 related things

3. Type - minimum of 15 typeface examples and why you have chosen the font(s).

4. Thumbnails Scan (digital camera) per project instructions and save as ONE jpg file.

5. UPLOAD: Using the image tool in this forum, place your jpg file under the typed
info (1-4 at top).
Thumbnails MUST be proportional and easy to understand the images and concept.
NO chicken scratches.
