Design is Design is Design

Letterform Layouts Slideshow
Typographers, like architects, have been shaping visual spaces for centuries. As you view this slideshow, you will notice that the letterforms carry not only "verbal" information but in most cases are used as graphic elements that create a design within the page format.

Be aware of the placement of the letterforms AND the space created around the groupings of the letters. A well balanced composition always considers the "empty/white/negative" space and how it interacts with the other elements on the page.

Personality of Fonts
Fonts do "say" different things.
It's important to observe the shapes of the letters and the shapes created around those letters.

Voice of Typography
It's never simple to pick the correct font for a project.
The more you look at good type design the better your choices will become.
